Sokihei M.D. Geist (Japanese: 装鬼兵MDガイスト Hepburn: Sokihei M.D. Gaisuto?, literally "Demon-Garbed Soldier M.D. Geist") is an anime and manga about a post-apocalyptic world.
Geist (the main character) is MD-02, a Most Dangerous Soldier, genetically engineered to function as a killing machine, but every one of the MDS units went homicidally insane. As a result, Geist was placed in suspended animation in a stasis pod orbiting the planet Jerra until it crashed several years later, awakening him and bringing him into another war on the planet. Super Robot Wars DRP[]
In Super Robot Wars DRP, Jerra is an earth-like world that was once inhabited by Wiseman's humans, but was abandoned after the coming of the Scub Coral. It lies at the fringes of a Balarant Union starsystem.
Later, earthling humans under NUNS came to the planet and colonized it. They researched and developed technologies by studying the Scub Coral and trading with the Balarant Union.
However, a calamity called the First Summer of Love occurred on the planet, prompting an armed uprising among the Jerran populace. They overthrew the colonial government and formed the Nexrum government, declaring independence from Earth with the backing of the nearby Balarant Starsystems.
A bloody war was fought.
A mad genius called Doc Terror developed a cyborg army for the Nexrum using Balarant Overtechnology. This prompted NUNS to create some weapons of their own : one being the Death Force (from studying the Coralians) and the other being the Most Dangerous Soldiers (from data-trading with the Gilgamesh Confederation).
In that war, a Most Dangerous Soldier called MD-02 'Geist' fought LFOs, VFs, ATs and Cyborgs at the behest of the NUNS government. However, he was sealed away at the conclusion of that war.
NUNS regained control by instating a 'native' government in the Council of the Sages, attempting to appease the Jerrans. However, Nexrum stragglers and bandits still exist. Another concern is the existence of Gekkostate, an outlaw organization.
The Death Force was never activated, but remains hidden away on the planet.
